Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan with butter or cooking spray.
In a large bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, vegetable oil, sugar, and eggs. Whisk together until smooth and well combined.
Add the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt directly into the wet ingredients. Gently fold until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
Add the chocolate chips to the batter and gently fold them in with a spatula or wooden spoon.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
Bake for 60–70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
