Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 1 baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch thick pieces
  • 2 large tomatoes, diced
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella, sliced or diced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tbsp balsamic glaze
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the baguette slices on a baking sheet and brush them lightly with olive oil. Toast in the oven for 5-7 minutes or until golden and crisp.
  2. In a bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, mozzarella, chopped basil, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Mix gently to avoid breaking the mozzarella too much.
  3. Spoon the tomato and mozzarella mixture onto each toasted baguette slice. Drizzle with balsamic glaze for an extra layer of flavor.
  4. Caprese Bruschetta is best served fresh while the bread is still crispy. Garnish with additional basil leaves if desired.

Notes

Choose ripe tomatoes for the best flavor. Use fresh mozzarella for a creamier texture. For a variation, add a drizzle of honey or a sprinkle of chili flakes for a sweet or spicy kick.
