Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 8 slices of soft white or whole wheat bread
  • 1 large cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened

Method

Instructions
  1. In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, chopped dill, lemon juice, salt, and pepper until smooth and well combined. Set aside.
  2. Using a sharp knife or a mandoline, thinly slice the cucumber. For extra crispness, pat the slices dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
  3. Spread a thin layer of butter on one side of each bread slice. On half of the bread slices, spread a generous layer of the cream cheese mixture. Arrange the cucumber slices evenly over the cream cheese. Top with the remaining bread slices, butter-side down.
  4. Using a sharp knife, trim the crusts off the sandwiches for a clean, elegant look. Cut each sandwich into quarters or smaller rectangles, depending on your preference. Arrange them on a platter and serve immediately.

Notes

Choose soft, fresh bread for the best texture. Assemble sandwiches just before serving to prevent them from drying out. For added flavor, consider adding garlic powder or hot sauce to the cream cheese mixture.
