Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
- Pat the chicken drumsticks dry with paper towels. This helps the BBQ sauce adhere better and creates a crispier exterior.
- Arrange the drumsticks on the prepared baking sheet, making sure they're not touching each other for even cooking.
- Brush each drumstick generously with BBQ sauce, coating all sides evenly. For extra flavor, you can season with a pinch of salt and pepper before adding the sauce.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and the skin is crispy and caramelized.
- For extra crispiness, you can broil for the last 2-3 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning.
- Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat.
Notes
Apply BBQ sauce in two layers - one before baking and another light coat during the last 10 minutes for maximum flavor. For extra crispy skin, pat chicken completely dry before saucing and bake on a wire rack placed over the baking sheet.
